Shirai-Bunko, 1789, Shoshiki Hanagatachō. Deep red, single with erect centre petaloids. Originated in Japan. See: Kyōto Engei Kurabu, 1964, Tsubaki Tokushū, No.5, p.80 has this as Hokuhan, but it is usually read as ‘Bokuhan’ or ‘Mokuhan’. (Believed extinct.)
