Hongbaicha

Hongbaicha (C. japonica). China Regn. #2011-077. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2011, No.4, p.37. A sport of ‘Shuaiqi’ found by Wang Xingli, Chongqing, China. Flowers peony form, deep red, with white spots in the petals, stamens cluster in center, petals emarginate, 13-15 cm diameter. Leaves flat, deep green, blade ccurled. 8.9 cm long, 4-4.5 cm wide. Flowers mid-season.

Hongbaicha. (Camellia japonica)  Synonym: None  Originate: Sichuan  Characteristics: Bud mutant originated from scion variety ‘Shuaiqi’, and rootstock variety ‘Baihuamengcha’, Plant vigorous with open crown, abundantly branching and dense foliage. Leaves deep green, with yellow blotches, elliptic, flat and glossy, measuring 8 cm to 9 cm across by 4 cm to 4.5 cm wide, with apex apiculate, base obtuse, serrate shallow and sparse, venation protruded. Calyxes open. Flowers bright red. Petals elliptic, with irregular white spots, apex flat than that in variety ‘Shuaiqi’ central petal not notched. Stamens normal, imbricated in 5 groups in centre. Irregularly notched in apex o f petals, diameter13 cm to 15 cm, large to very large size flower, semi-double form, medium floral abundance. Blooming February to April, blooming March.  Key points of identification: Petals red with irregular white spots, stamens normal, arranged in 5 groups in centres.

红白茶 Camellia japonica ‘Hongbaicha’ 中国登录号：2011-077，《中国花卉园艺》2011年第4期37页。由周利命名，重庆南山植物园管理处的王兴礼培育并登录。该品种是用‘帅旗’接穗与砧木白花檬茶嫁接后产生变异而得到的。‘帅旗’芽变品种，形状与帅旗相近，花大红色,牡丹型。在瓣上带不规则白色晕斑，花瓣比帅旗平展，瓣中脉无凹槽，雄蕊发育完全，呈5束状集于花心，花瓣端有不规则缺凹。花径13~15cm。叶深绿色，平坦。叶中肋突出，向外弯。长8.9cm，宽4~4.5cm.。花期：1~4月，盛花期3月中旬。

周利主编、2011《川茶品种图鉴》 p.162。接穂帅旗与砧木白花檬茶嫁接后得到的新品种。植株开张，生长旺盛，枝叶茂密；叶色深绿，偶有黄色斑块，椭圆形，叶面平展光亮，叶长8cm-9cm,宽4cm-4.5cm,叶先端渐尖，基部楔形，叶齿稀，较浅，叶脉外凸;花萼开张，花大红色，椭圆形花瓣上带不规则白色晕斑，花瓣比帅旗平展，瓣中脉无凹槽，雄蕊发育完全，呈5束集于花心，花瓣端有不规则缺凹，花径13cm-15cm,大到巨型花，半重瓣型，花量中等，花期2月-4月，盛花期3月。识别特征：红色花瓣上有不规则白斑，雄蕊发育成熟，呈5束集于花心。原始产地：四川
