Hongjingling

Hongjingling. (Camellia japonica)  Synonym: None  Originate: Chongqing  Characteristics: Plant medium vigorous with open crown, medium abundantly branching. Leaves light green, obovate, with apex apiculate, base broad obtuse, fiat, glossy, central venation obviously asymmetry, measured 8 cm to 9 cm across by 4 cm to 4.5 cm wide, serrate shallow and sparse. Flowers are bright red. Petals at outer rows rounded, with apex deeply notched, 18-20 segments. Tiny petaloids by all stamens, with some regular petaloids imbricated tightly, with some irregular petaloids arranged loosely, diameter 7 cm to 8 cm wide, anemone form, medium floral inflorescence. Blooming February to April, at fully blooming in March.  Key points of identification: Main venation apparently asymmetry, some regular petaloids imbricated tightly, and some irregular ones loosely.

红精灵 Hongjingling  周利主编、2011《川茶品种图鉴》 p.82。树势较强，树冠开张，成枝力中等；叶浅绿色，倒卵圆形，先端渐尖，基部宽楔形或近圆形，叶面平展光亮，叶主脉两边不对称，一边明显较大，叶长8cm~9cm,宽4cm~4.5cm,叶齿浅、稀，不明显；花大红色，外数轮大花近瓣圆形，瓣端有深缺凹，18枚~20枚，雄蕊完全瓣化呈小碎瓣集于花心，部分瓣化瓣整齐规则，排列紧密，部分瓣化瓣大小不规则，排列较松散，花径7cm~8cm,托桂型，花量中等，花期2月~4月，盛花期3月。识别特征：叶脉两边不对称，雄蕊瓣化瓣部分规则紧凑，部分不规则较松散。原始产地：重庆
