Williams Catalogue, 1891, p.24: A new Japanese camellia introduced by Mr Gerald Waller. This is a very chaste, single flower, about 7.5 cm across. The stamens are primrose with golden anthers surrounded by a single row of pure white guard petals. Corrupted name is ‘Hotoko’(Believed. extinct.)
