Huanqing (C. amplexicaulis × Non-reticulata hybrid 'Dr Robert K. Cutter'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.451. HB-02-9., a cross seedling (BLUO-No.48) of C. amplexicaulis × Non-reticulata hybrid 'Dr Robert K. Cutter'. Flowers red, central petaloids light red, slightly fragrant, peony to anemone form, large size, 11.5-13.0cm across and 6.5cm deep with 23-26 large petals arranged loosely in 4-5 rows, petals broad obovate, central small petals twisted, mixed with stamens. Leaves green, tender leaves purple red, heavy leathery, elliptic, veins visible, midribs yellow, margins shallowly serrate. Plant compact, tall, branches dense and growth vigorous. Blooms from late-winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Festivity”.
