Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.27 with colour photo; English translation p.17. Red stripes on pink ground, pale pink bordered apices. A small semi-double with cupped petals and split stamens. Flowers mid-season. Leaves small, elliptic. A chance seedling from Wakayama Prefecture, named and released by Totsurō Nakamura in 1994. ‘Ikune’ is the name of the nursery where a series of these varieties have been originated. From Tokyo.
