ICS., Apr.1990, Japanese Camellia Cultivar List, p.28: Very small, deep rose-pink, cup-shaped single. Blooms early to mid-season. Originated in the Niigata Prefecture, Japan of a cross of C.japonica Tōkai x C.sinensis, Z.1. Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.34 with colour photo; English translation p.21. Stated to be a cross of C.x williamsii Elegant Beauty x C.japonica Onetia Holland. Colour photo supports this parentage. Deep pink at petal margins graduating to pink at the centre, formal double, spiral, medium to large size. Flowers mid-season to late. Leaves elliptic medium size. Spreading growth. Named and released by Kaoru Hagiya in 1979.
