Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1980, Senchinshū, p.16, colour photo, p.200, description: Small single of 5 overlapping petals, emarginate, blush pink ground, profusely marked with pink streaks and peppering. Originated in Izu, Shizu'oka Prefecture, Japan. Resembles Chūbu-setsugekka, Himuro-setsugekka, Sanyasō, 'Sanya-shibori'. The Izu peninsula is noted for fishing and hot springs. William Adams was wrecked here. He was the pilot (1564-1620) who entered the service of the Shōgun Tokugawa Ieyama.
