ACS 1995, The Camellia Journal, vol.50, No.2, p.15, Reg. No.2325: Small, dark red formal double, C.japonica chance seedling. Blooms mid-season to late. Originated in USA by William H. Smith, Gainesville, Florida. ACS 1995 American Camellia Yearbook, p.5 and colour photo: The 9 year old seedling first flowered 1990. Average flower size is 7 cm across x 3 cm deep with 60 petals. Plant growth is upright, dense and slow in rate with dark green leaves 8 cm long x 3.2 cm wide.
