Jingcai Wuxian

Jingcai Wuxian (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiameng Wenqing'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.361. HAR-18-1., a cross seedling (DWQ-No.3) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiameng Wenqing'. Exterior petals of the flowers pinkish white, central petals red to dark-red, with white patches, semi-double to peony form, medium to large size, 9.0-11.0cm across and 5.0cm deep with 15- 17 large petals arranged in 3 rows, petal surfaces slightly wrinkled, central petals erected and mixed with stamens. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins nearly smooth. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Splendid Infinity”.
