International Camellia Journal, 2015, p.119; Reg. No. 113.  Originated, registered and propagated by António Assunção, Rua Bela Vista no 156, Candoso St. Tiago, Guimarães, Portugal. First raised seven years ago, it first flowered in 2010. Female parent C. reticulata ‘Arcadia’, male parent not known. Propagated by graft. Grown outdoors, the growth rate is rapid and the growth style is spreading and open. It flowers early season with a long flowering period. Flowers red, semi-double, hose-in-hose form, 180-220 mm. Petals 20/30. Buds oval. Stamens columnar sometimes dispersed between petals and petaloids, filaments white, anthers yellow, and with 1 or 2 petaloids, white with pink staining. Leaves 120 x 60 mm, dark green, slightly curled and serrated. Flower shatters on falling. This cultivar was dedicated to Joana Andresen Guedes, recent President of the Portuguese Camellia Association. The name was chosen by herself.
