Juanhao Jingxiu

Juanhao Jingxiu (C. azalea × C. japonica 'Fred Sander'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.26. HA-02-2., a cross seedling (DF-No.2) of C. azalea × C. japonica 'Fred Sander'. Flowers deep pink to peach red, semi-double form, medium size, 9.5-10.0cm across and 4.5cm deep with 15-18 petals arranged in 3 rows, petals slightly crinkled, stamens slightly united at the base, occasionally a few petaloids appeared, bloom dense, petals fall one by one. Leaves dark green, slightly twisted, leathery, elliptic, margins sparsely serrate at the upper part. Plant compact, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from later-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Beautiful in Appearance & Gentle in Disposition”.
