ACS, The Camellia Journal, Aug. 1997, p.15, Reg. No.2407. A medium size, light red, anemone form chance seedling. Flowers early. Originated by Dr. J.M. Habel, Suffolk, Va., USA. American Camellia Yearbook, 1997, p.4, colour photo before p.1. The 29 year old seedling first flowered in 1968. Average flower size is 10 cm across x 5 cm deep, with 12 petals, numerous petaloids, yellow anthers and pink filaments. Plant growth is upright and vigorous with dark green leaves 11.5 cm long x 5.7 cm wide.
