Yokoyama, 1975, Gendai Tsubaki Meikan, p.113, black and white photo: A variegated form of Kōkirin - Cardinal red with spots and stars of white. Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.130 illustration, p.243, as ‘Fuiri-kōkirin’, its description: Irregular, open peony form, dark crimson with white markings; centre petals and stamens intermixed. Leaves, glossy mid-green, elliptic, acuminate, shallowly serrate.Originated in in Kantō of Japan. Synonym: ‘Fuiri-kōkirin’.
