Aoyama, Kinta, 1827, Sōmoku Kihin Kagami. Leaves thin and slender, acuminate at apex. Flower red, single, small size, opens wide. Different reading ‘Komekō-sakuraba’. See Kyōto Engei Kurabu, 1966, Tsubaki Tokushū, No.7, p.169. Originated in Japan. (Believed extinct.)
