Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.102 with colour photo; English translation p.69. Small, pink shading to white at the centre, tubular to bowl shaped single with tubular stamen column. Flowers mid-season to late. Leaves elliptic, small recurved. A cross between Sasameyuki and ‘Shūran’, originated by Tadao Yamaguchi, named and released by Tokio Hara in 1995. Naming is related to the place of origin, ‘Tsurugi, which literally means the place where cranes visit. From Ishikawa Prefecture.
