Kunyuan Bihe

Kunyuan Bihe (C. reticulata ‘Fenyulan’ x  C. 'Terrell Weaver'). Chinese Flowers & Horticulture, Issue 12, 2025, p.41. China Camellia Registration No.: CCRN2024009. Originated and registered by Shen Yunguang, Wang Zhonglang, Wang Xinrui, and Feng Baojun of the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. A hybrid of Camellia reticulata ‘Fenyulan’ and the C. ‘Terrell Weaver’. Small tree with an open canopy and moderately dense leaves. Leaves ovate or elliptical, with a short, narrow acuminate to gradually acuminate apex, a cuneate or broadly cuneate base, finely serrated margins, and a dark green surface. Flowers pink, semi-double, with neatly arranged petals, diameter 10–12 cm, 22–31 petals, petals inverted heart-shaped with slightly indented apex, and visible clear veins on the surface; stamens forming a tube with the lower half fused; pistils rudimentary. Flowering period from mid-February to mid-March.

昆园碧荷 Camellia ‘Kunyuan Bihe’，《中国花卉园艺》2025年第12期41页. 中国茶花登录号：CCRN2024009。由中国科学院昆明植物研究所的沈云光、王仲朗、王新蕊、冯宝钧培育并登录。云南山茶‘粉玉兰’和杂交品种‘特蕾尔织娘’的杂交品种。小乔木，株型开张，叶中等稠密。叶卵形或椭圆形，先端窄短尾尖至渐尖，基部楔形或宽楔形，叶缘细齿状，叶面深绿色。花粉红色，半重瓣，花瓣排列整齐，花冠直径10～12cm，花瓣22～31枚，瓣片倒心形，先端微凹，瓣面可见清晰网脉；雄蕊筒型，花丝下半部连生；雌蕊退化。花期2月中旬至3月中旬。
