Nippon Tsubaki - Sasanqua Meikan, 1998, p.331; English translation p.230. Small, dark red, tubular to trumpet shaped single, cylindrical stamens, filaments pale red. Flowers mid-season. Leaves elliptic, small to medium size. Upright, vigorous growth. Selected from wild japonicas in Matsuyama City, Ehime prefecture, Japan. Named and released by Tokihiro Kōno in 1985.
