Kuxia Liujin

Kuxia Liujin (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Hongbo Yongjin'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.357. HAR-17-1., a cross seedling (DHBYJ-No.11+9) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Hongbo Yongjin'. Flowers red to deep red, semi-double form, large to very large size, 10.5-14.0cm across and 4.5cm deep with 18-23 petals arranged in 3-4 rows, petals long obovate, stamens slightly united at the base, occasionally with some petaloids. Leaves dark green, leathery, long elliptic, urgently cuneate at the base, margins nearly smooth. Plant upright, branches dense and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from early-summer, fully blooms from autumn to winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means "Flowing Gold in Hot Summer”.
