Lanman Lihua

Lanman Lihua (C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiangri Guangchang'). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.338. HAR-14-12., a cross seedling (DGC-No.33) of C. azalea × C. azalea F1 new hybrid 'Xiangri Guangchang'. Flowers bright red, occasionally with some white dots or markings on the petal surfaces, semi-double form, medium to large size, 8.5-11.5cm across and 5.0cm deep with 18-20 petals arranged loosely in 3 rows, petals long obovate, semi-erected when just opening and rolled outward when fully opening, stamens clustered. Leaves dark green, heavy leathery, broad elliptic, margins nearly smooth. Plant upright and growth vigorous. Starts to bloom from late-spring, fully blooms in summer, autumn and winter and sporadically in spring. The cultivar name means “Brilliant Fireworks”.
