Arbor type. Large-leaf size. Early
sprouting.
Originated in the Lechang county
(Guangdcng province). It is also distributed in the Renhua, Ruyuan and Qujiang
counties.
Plant high, the maximum height reaches 5~7m.
With obvious main stem and rather sparse branching. Plant erect in shape.
Leaves horizontal or inflexed. Length 9.9~20.〇cm,width
4.0~9.0cm. Oblong in shape ane light green
or dark green in color, glossy, brittle in texture, with acuminate tip. Surface
flat or slightly proturding, with neat or waving margin as well as shallow %nd
sharp serrations. The sprouting period in the spring season appears in the
middle of March. The peak period of shoots with one bud and three leaves stage*
appears in the middle of April. Shoots green or light green in color, stout
with profuse hairs. The weight of 100 one bud and three leaves shoots averaged
37g. The peak pericd of flowering stage appears in the third ten days of
October. The underface of sepal and the surface of young fruit are covered with
numerous fine hairs. With medium bearing percentage. High cold-hardiness.
Rather high yielding. The yield of made
tea in the experimental garden of Tea Research Institute, Guangdong Academy of
Agricultural sciences averaged 190%225kg per mu.
According to the analysis conducted by
the Tea Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the
contents of caffeine in the shoots at summer season averaged 3.87%, amino acids
1.62%, tea poiyphenols 37.99%, total catechins 225.98 mg/g. The black tea prepared
with the GSCT15 variety as the raw material is characterized by its strong
aroma and full taste, liquor with 'creaming after cooling*. The green tea
prepared with this variety as the raw material has a superb quality and is
covered with profuse fine hairs. It was named ‘Baihao Yingzhen. It was
introduced to Fujian province and used to create the new product of “Baiyun
Xueya”,the first infusion has a
fresh aroma, the second infusion has a special drug aroma and the third
infusion has a flower aroma and a slight sweet taste.
Suitable to popularize in the tea area
in southern part of China for the manufacture of black tea and green tea.
It is recommended to select the hilly
area with relatively high humidity and lands with deep and fertile soil layer.

【产地与分布】由广东省乐昌农场从乐昌白毛群体中采用单株育种法育成。主要分布在广东韶关和清远市。湖南、福建等省有少量引种。1988年通过广东省农作物品种审定委员会审定,编号1988008。
【形态特征】 植株适中,树姿半开张,分枝密度中等。叶片呈水平状着生,长椭圆形,叶色黄緑,富光泽,叶面平,叶身稍内折,叶缘微波,叶尖渐尖,叶齿钝浅,叶质厚较脆。花冠直径3.0~4.0cm,花瓣白色、7瓣,子房茸毛中等,花柱3裂。
【特性】 在广东乐昌一芽三叶期在3月下旬至4月上旬。芽叶生育力较强,绿色或黄緑色,肥壮,茸毛特多,一芽三叶百芽重86.0g。春茶一芽二叶蒸青样约含茶多酚21.3%、氨基酸2.7%、咖啡碱3.0%、水浸出物56.3%。产量较高,每667㎡产干茶120kg。适制红茶、绿茶和白茶,品质优良。制白茶,色白如银,条索粗壮,兰花香高长,滋味浓醇。抗寒和抗旱性较强,扦插繁殖力中等。
【适栽地区】广东海拔300m以上的中高山茶区。
【栽培要点】宜选择土壌湿度较高、土层深厚肥沃的地块种植。每667㎡双行条栽3000株;重施有机肥。按常规茶园栽培管理。

原产广东省乐昌县,仁化、乳源、曲江等县亦有分布.
植株高大,最高可达5~7m,主干明显,分枝较稀疏,树姿直立,叶片呈水 平状着生。叶片长9.9~20.0cm,宽4.0~9.Ocm,叶形椭圆,叶色绿,富光泽, 叶片脆,叶尖渐尖,叶面平或微隆,叶缘平或波,叶齿细浅,叶脉12~14对, 叶身平或稍内折,叶色黄绿或暗绿,春芽萌发期一般在3月中旬,一芽三叶盛 期*4月中旬。芽叶绿色或黄绿色,肥壮,茸毛特多。一芽三叶百芽平均重37g, 盛花期在十月下旬,花萼片背面绒毛多;结实率中等,幼果表面亦有绒毛。抗寒性较强。
产量较高,广东省农业科学院茶叶研究所试验亩产干茶190~225kg。据中国农业科学院茶叶研究所分析,夏茶鲜叶含咖啡碱3.87%,氨基酸 1.62%,茶多酚37.99%,儿茶素总量225.98mg/g,制红茶,香气特高,滋味 浓郁,汤呈“冷后浑”。制绿茶,白毫密披,在广东号称“白毫银针”,品质优良。 引入福建省后,用来创制“白云雪芽”产品,第1次泡为毫香,第2次泡为药香味,第3次泡为青花香和微甜味,别具风味。
适宜在华南部分茶区(红茶、绿茶)推广。
宜选择湿度较高的山地和厚层肥沃的土壤条件。
