American Camellia Yearbook, 1974, p.171, Reg. No.1291: A 6 year old chance japonica seedling of ‘Tinsie’, (Bokuhan) that first bloomed 1969. Originated by Tom Eagleson, Port Arthur, Texas, USA. Plant growth is upright, open and rapid with dark green leaves, 6 cm x 3.8 cm. The formal double (Alba Plena type) bloom is dark red with 64 petals and measures 7.5 cm across x 3.8 cm deep. Sometimes opens with mixed red and white petaloids. Sport: Lela Laurents Variegated.
