Les Augustines

 ‘Les Augustines’ (C. japonica). European Reg. No 226. Originated by Fañch Le Moal, Plouisy, France, introduced by ‘Camellia Pays de Guingamp’ association. A seedling in 2003 of unkown parentage, first flowering in 2014. Plant: growth habit, bushy and medium growth rate, mid-saison to late flowering. spent flowering falling shattering. Flower: anemon, small, 7 cm in width, 4 cm in depth, 13 petals in two rows, moderate purplish pink, RHS2001 62B, upright and tubular heart of pale pink pétaloids. Oval flower bud. Leaf: medium green, elliptic and light recurved, 10 x 4 cm. Story: This camellia was named in honour of the presence of the nuns of this congregation in Guingamp-Ploumagoar (1676–2021).
