Valdosta Camellias, ACS., Nov.1987, The Camellia Journal, vol.42, No.4, p.19. No description. New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, 1990, vol.XVI, No.5, p.42, Reg. No.269: Originated by T. Lennard, Te Puke, New Zealand. A chance seedling that first bloomed 1985 at 8 years of age. Average growth habit and rate of growth, with dark green leaves, 7 cm x 4 cm. The semi-double, small to medium size bloom, averages 8 cm across x 4.5 cm deep and has 27 petals. The ruby red flower with black veining in the petals, has yellow pollen and pink filaments. Blooms mid-season to late.
