ACS., Newsletter, vol.4, No.3, July 1949, Reg. No.6: Originated by John S. Arm­strong, Ontario, California, USA from seed of unknown parentage that first flowered 1943. A crimson, incomplete double, peony to anemone form, 10 cm across. Edges of petals are crimped, large petaloids and stamens intermingled in the centre. Leaves dark green, stiff, glossy, tip recurved, long pointed, broadly lanceolate, 12 cm x 6 cm. with broad, shallow serra­tions. Habit compact, bushy, vigorous and hardy. Orthographic error: ‘Loreli’.
