SCCS 1996, Camellia Nomenclature, p.121: White, medium sized single. Blooms early. Musky fragrance. Cold hardy. Originated by Dr W.L. Ackerman, Ashton, Maryland, USA.This is one of the selections of Camellia oleifera used by Dr. Ackerman for introducing cold hardiness into Camellia plants. The original plant, located in Lushan Mountain of Jiangxi province, China, is a multi-trunked tree over 64 cm tall with a massive spread of roughly 110 cm! the bark is a powdery, cinnamon color and numerous white flowers bloom in the earky fall.
