Taniguchi, 1912, Chinka Kyōkan: Greenish white, very large. Seibundō Shinkōsha, 1979, Senchinshū, p.142, colour photo, p.248, description: Large size, white, single of 6 petals and a spreading burst of about 120 stamens with light yellow anthers. Origi­nated in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Synonym: ‘Higo-maizuru’, ‘Maizuru-Higo’. Note: “Maizuru” is also the name of a Japanese city.
