Anonymous, 1948, American Camellia Yearbook, p.175: Originated by Bradford’s Wayside Nursery, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, USA. First bloomed 1938. An upright, vigorous grower with dull green foliage, leaves rounded, venation pronounced, slightly serrate. A chance seedling. Incomplete double, petals wide and well spaced, interior of the flower composed of numerous petaloids and stamens intermixed. Size 9-10 cm across, colour deep rose-red with some centre petaloids marbled white. Flowers mid-season. Sport: J.S. Bradford.
