» English Description
RHS., 1970, Rhododendron and Camellia Yearbook, No.24, p.192: (C.x williamsii Mary Christian x C.reticulata) Award of Merit, 1969 as a hardy flowering plant. The flowers are rose form double with imbricated petals opening to show a central stamen cluster. Flowers measure 7 cm across with 22-24 petals. Flower colour is RHS.CC.Red Group, 55B with darker veinal markings of 55A. Leaves finely serrate, slightly acuminate. Originated in England by L.C.R. Messel, Sussex.
