GSCT25 (Meitan Taicha)    Alternate name: Taizhicha. It can be divided into green Taicha and red Taicha.    Jat variety. Frutex type. Medium-leaf size. Mediun sprouting.        Originated in the Maitan county (Guizhou province). It is distributed in the      region of Zunyi, Tongren of Guizhou province. It was also introduced in small amo¬       unts in the Sichuan, Anhui, Zhejiang, Hunan and Fujian provinces.       

Plant rather high. Semi-opened in shape, with rather dense branching. Leaves horizontal or inclined upwards. Length 9.3~12.5 cm, width 3.6~4.9 cm. Oblong in   shape with acuminate tips. Surface of leaf fiat or slightly protruding. 7~13 pairs of vein, dark green or deep green in color with dense and shallow serrations. The sprouting period in spring season appears in the third ten days of March. The peak period of shoots with one bud and three leaves stage appears in the middle of April. With      potent sprouting ability and dense sprouting density. Shoots stout with profuse hairs, green color in spring and violet in summer, with long tenderness-keeping period.  The weight, of 100 one bud and three leaves shoots averaged 74 g. The peak period of flowering stage appears in the middle to the third ten days of October. With high bearing percentage as well as rather high resistance to drought and frost. Wider adaptability.

High-yielding. The yield of made tea in the tea region of Meitan county (Guizhou province) averaged more than 250 kg per mu. According to the analysis conducted by the Tea Research Institute, Chinese  Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the contents of caffeine in the one bud and two leaves shoots in spring season averaged 4.92%, amino acids 2.56%, tea polyphenol. 27.08% and total catechins 181.27 mg/g. Green tea prepared with GSCT25 variety as the raw material has a full and fresh taste.                     

Suitable to popularize in the tea region in south-of-Yangzte River for the manufacture of green tea.It is mainly propagated by seed either by sowing directly or by transplanting the seedling. It is suitable to plant in multi-rows. It is recommended to pay the attention on the purity of variety during the process of introduction and the green Taicha is more suitable to select. Light-pruning on the canopy of productive tea bushes in an interval of 2-3 years.

华茶25(GSCT25)   湄潭苔茶   又名苔子茶,有绿苔茶和红苔茶之别,为有性繁殖系品种。灌木型,中叶 类,中芽种。   

原产贵州省湄潭县,主要分布于贵州省遵义、铜仁等地区,四川、陕西、 安徽、浙江、湖南、福建等省有少量引种。

植株较高大,树姿半开张,分枝尚密,叶片呈水平或稍上斜状着生,叶片 9.3~12.5cm,宽4.0~4.9cm,叶形椭圆,叶尖渐尖,叶面平或微隆起, 叶脉7~13对,叶色浓绿或暗绿色,叶齿浅密。春芽萌发期在3月下旬,一芽三叶盛期在4月中旬,育芽能力强,发芽密度大,持嫩期长,芽叶肥壮,春 季呈绿色,夏季紫色,茸毛多,一芽三叶百芽重平均74g,盛花期在10月中、 下旬,结实率尚高。抗寒、抗旱力较强,适应性广。   

产量高,在贵州省湄潭茶区亩产干茶超过250kg。据中国农业科学院茶叶研究所分析,春茶一芽二叶鲜叶含咖啡碱4.92% 氨基酸2.56%,茶多酚27.08%,儿茶素总量181.27mg/g。制绿荼滋味爽。

适宜在江南(绿茶)茶区推广。 繁殖方式以种子繁殖为主,直播或育苗移栽均可。适宜于多行条植。在引 种时要注意品种纯度,以选用绿苔茶为宜。投产茶树隔2~3年进行蓬面修剪。
