Melissa Hardison (C. japonica) ACS, Reg. No.2443. American Camellia Yearbook, 1997,p5. with color photo in color inset 10. A large, pink, and white,anemone to peony form, C. japonica chance seedling, mid-season.Originated and propagated by D. P. Hardison, Tallahassee, FL. The 9-year-oldseedling first bloomed in 1991. Average size bloom, untreated, is 5" wideand 3" deep with 49 petals, 51 petaloid, light yellow anthers and whitefilaments. Plant growth is spreading and average with dark green leavesmeasuring 3 3/4" long and I 3/4" - 2" wide.
