Menggui (C. japonica 'Scentsation' × C. amplexicaulis). Liu Xinkai et al. 2023, Illustrations of the New Camellia Hybrids that Bloom Year-round, Zhejiang Science and Technology Publishing House, p.458. HB-21-1., a cross seedling (XSB-No.3) of C. japonica 'Scentsation' × C. amplexicaulis. Flowers deep pink with a faint scent, semi-double form, large size, 10.0-11.3cm across and 4.0-4.5cm deep with 25-30 petals arranged in 4 rows, petals broad obovate, apices nearly round, stamens united at the base, bloom dense. Leaves green, tender leaves purple red, heavy leathery, broad elliptic, arch shaped, midribs and lateral veins impressed, margins finely and shallowly serrate. Plant upright, tall, branches and leaves dense and growth vigorous. Blooms from late-winter to the spring of following year. The cultivar name means “Realized Dream”.
