Mingmei

China Camellia Regn No. 2019-279. Published in China Flowers & Horticulture, 2019, No.10, p.51 with a colour photo. This cultivar was bred and registered by You Jintang, a nursery of Jintang in Yuhua District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. It was selected from the seedlings of 'Longhuozhu'. Hybrid seeds were sown in 2012, and the seedlings bloomed for the first time in 2017. Flowers dark red, with narrow white edges on the petals, peony form, medium to large, diameter 10.0～12.0 cm, about 20 large outer petals, arranged in 3 rounds, petals turned out, broad obovate, apex nearly round, with 40 to 60 small petaloids in the middle, twisted and mixed with yellow stamens. Leaves light green, shiny, broad-elliptic, 7.5-9.5 cm long, 4.5-5.0 cm wide, with yellow-green midribs, inconspicuous lateral veins, blunt apex, nearly round base. Plants  compact, with dense branches and leaves, and medium growth rate. Flowering period: February to mid-April.

明媚 中国茶花登录号：2019-279。《中国花卉园艺》2019年第10期51页。本品种由湖南长沙市雨花区锦棠苗圃游锦棠培育并登录，系由红山茶杂交种‘龙火珠’实生苗中选育而得。2012年杂交种子播种，实生苗于2017年首次开花。花朵深红色，花瓣边缘具很窄的白边，牡丹型，中到大型花，花径10.0～12.0 cm，外部大花瓣20枚左右，呈3轮紧实排列，花瓣外翻，阔倒卵形，先端近圆，中部小花瓣40～60枚，扭曲，与黄色雄蕊混生。叶片浅绿色，光亮，革质，阔椭圆形，长7.5～9.5 cm，宽4.5～5.0 cm，中脉黄绿色，侧脉不明显，先端钝，基部近圆形，边缘齿钝。植株紧凑，枝叶稠密，生长中等。花期：2月至4月中旬。
