ACS, The Camellia Journal, Aug. 1997, p.16, Reg. No.2420. A large, white, striped and blotched red, peony form chance seedling. Flowers early to mid-season. Originated by LaRose Smith, Beaufort, S.C., USA. American Camellia Yearbook, 1997, p.5, colour photo before p.1. The 8-9 year old seedling first flowered in 1993. Average flower size is 10.8 cm across x 7.5 cm deep, with 12 petals and 5 petaloids. Plant growth is upright, dense and vigorous with dark green leaves 9 cm long x 4.5 cm wide.
