Kyōto Engei Kurabu, 1964, Tsubaki Tokushū, No.5, p.71: Flower sorber red, formal double. Plant habit upright. Hakoda, JCS., 1987, Tsubaki, No.26, p.49: Medium to large size, crimson double. Blooms early to mid-season. Originated in the precinct of the Nangū Shrine, Ichinomiya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. See Satō, 1975, Chūbu no Tsubaki, p.115.
