Fendig, 1953, American Camellia Catalogue: Variegated, pink, single, Mid­season. American Camellia Yearbook, 1954, p.324, Reg. No.176: A 10 year old chance seedling, originated by Hugh Shackelford, Albany, Georgia, USA, which first bloomed 1951. Plant growth is compact and rapid with medium, rounded, light green leaves. Flowers are single with 5 petals and two petaloids, 6-7 cm across. Colour, light pink with white edges. Flowers mid-season.
