» English Description
American Camellia Yearbook, 1970, p.167, Reg. No.1097: A virus variegated form of Miss Mandie - Red heavily variegated white. Originated by Neal Cox, Georgetown South Carolina, USA. A sport of "Miss Mandm' that appeared in 1965; found by Neal Cox, Georgetown, S. C., and propagated by Little Red Barn, Georgetown, S. C. It was first observed and propagated ill 1965. It has bloomed 100% true during the last two years on 6 different plants. It was commercially introduced in 1969. Plant growth is upright, dense and medium in rate with dark green leaves of average size. The semidouble, 'Tomorrow' type, bloom is red, heavily var. white, with golden anthers and white filaments. It measures 5 inches untreated grown in greenhouse. Excellent texture and keeping qualities. See colour photo, pl.117, p.61, Encyclopedia of Camellias in Colour, Vol.II, 1978.
