Mochuan

China Camellia Regn No. 2019-264. Published in China Flowers & Horticulture, 2019, No.8, p.57 with a colour photo. It was originated and registered by Chen Jianchuan, from Yingxiang Nursery, Yongfu Town, Longyan City, Fujian Province. This cultivar is a sport of C. japonica ‘Chidan’, which was discovered in 2012 and then grafted and reproduced by cutting. The flower is dark red with velvety light, rose double forml to fully double form, large flower, flower diameter 12.0cm with about 80 petals, arranged in multiple rounds, thick petals, slightly concave apex. The leaves are medium green, tender buds and young leaves are green and shiny, lavender patches, elliptical, 9 cm long, 6cm wide, acuminate, and the other characteristic are the same as 'Chidan'. The plants are compact and grow vigorously. Flowering from February to March.

墨川 Camellia japonica ‘Mochuan’. 中国茶花登录号：2019-264。《中国花卉园艺》2019年第8期58页。由福建省龙岩市永福镇迎祥园艺陈建川培育并登录。本品种系 ‘赤丹’(C. japonica ‘Chidan’)之芽变，2012年发现后嫁接并进行扦插繁殖。花朵墨红色，泛绒光，玫瑰重瓣型至完全重瓣型，大型花，花径12.0cm，花瓣约80枚左右，呈多轮有序排列，瓣质厚，先端微凹，边缘略外翻，小波浪状，花丝红色。叶片中等绿色，嫩芽和嫩叶绿色有光泽，淡紫红色斑块，椭圆形，长9cm，宽6cm，先端尖，其他与其母本无异。植株紧凑，生长旺盛。花期2～3月份。
