Itō, Ihei, 1695, Kadan Chikinshō; Chinka Zufu, (before 1700) Watanabe, 1969, pl.705; Yashiro, 1841, Kokon Yōrankō, vol.306: The point of the corolla is slender. A white flower variegated with red like a splashed pattern. Eight-fold flower. Originated in Japan.(Believed extinct.)
