New Zealand Camellia Bulletin, March 2001, Issue No.138, vol.XXII, No.2, p.20, Reg. No.420. Registered by G. & A.B. Reynolds, Hamilton, New Zealand. A sport of C.sasanqua Plantation Pink, first recorded and propagated in 1994. The flower is of single form, 9 cm diameter x 2 cm deep. The 8 petals are slightly waved and bilobed, white with a slightly uneven edge of mid-pink (RHS.CC.55B). The prominent stamens have butter yellow filaments with chrome yellow anthers, and the flower has a strong scent. The plant is upright, dense and of rapid growth with dark green leaves 5 cm long x 3.5 cm wide.. Flowers in autumn. Note: Mothers Day in New Zealand is held in mid-May, which is also autumn.
