van Houtte Catalogue, 1843-1844, 12:aaa: Deep glowing red, centre lined with white. van Houtte Catalogue, 1846-1847, 27:28: Beautiful flower, often 12 cm in diameter, deep, glowing red, with pure white central stripe. Obtained as a seedling by Rovelli Bros, Iles Borromees, Italy. Synonym: ‘Muller’. Note: Rovelli, 1852, Catalogue description is “Very large, vivid pink, marbled white”.
