Nanxiangsong

Nanxiangsong (C. japonica). China Regn. #2020-324. China Flowers & Horticulture, 2020, No.24, p.42. This cultivar was bred by Wang Xiangnan Chen Yongzhong and Chen Longsheng et al. from Hunan Academy of Forestry,  selected from the seedlings of 'Xinsonghua'. It bloomed for the first time in 2017. Flowers bright red, slightly waxy luster, and a few white streaks can be seen in the center petals, peony-shaped to semi-double, medium-sized flowers, flower diameter 8.0～10.0cm. Flower thickness 4.5～5.0cm, petals are obovate, apex is slightly concave, outer The petals are wide and slightly reversed. The center petals gradually become smaller, slightly erect and twisted. The petals are slightly wrinkled, and the stamens are irregularly bundled and mixed with the petals, with a three-dimensional layering. The leaves are medium green, bright, thick leathery, broad oval. The plant erect, with dense branches and leaves, growing vigorously. Bloom from February to March.

南湘松 Camellia japonica 'Nanxiangsong' 中国茶花登录号：2020-324。《中国花卉园艺》2020年第24期42页。本品种由湖南省林业科学院王湘南、陈永忠、陈隆升 等培育，从红山茶品种‘新松花’实生苗中选育而得。2017年首次开花。花朵鲜艳的红色，略显蜡质光泽，中心花瓣可见少量白色条纹，牡丹型至半重瓣，中型花，花径8.0～10.0cm.花朵厚4.5～5.0cm,花瓣倒卵形，先端略凹，外层花瓣宽大，略反卷，中心花瓣逐渐变小，略直立、扭曲，花瓣微皱，雄蕊呈不规则束状与花瓣混生，具立体层次感。叶片中等绿色，光亮，厚革质，阔椭圆形。植株立性，枝叶稠密，长势旺盛，花期2-3月。
