Hagiya, 1986, Studies on Interspecific Hybridization of Camellias, No.2, p.5, colour pl.6, p.4: A seedling of C.vernalis Umegaka x C.lutchuensis. Originated by Dr Kaoru Hagiya, Niigata University, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Flower light peach pink, 18-20 petals, semi-double, 5-6 cm across; towards the centre the petals become smaller and more upright, generally of an ovate shape, emarginate, the colour fading towards the petal base. Stamens about 25 scattered, filaments white; fragrant. Flowers in the leaf axils. Leaves small, ovate, venation and serration obscure. Plant habit, spreading, branches slender.
