American Camellia Yearbook, 1961, p.228, Reg. No.580: A 13 year old chance seedling of White Empress that first bloomed 1953. Originated by K. Sawada, Mobile, Alabama, USA. Plant growth is dense and upright with medium size, thick, glossy, dark green leaves, 11 cm x 5 cm. The semi-double flowers, 12.5-13 cm across x 5.5 cm. deep are white with 20-21 petals and a few petaloids. Flowers mid-season.
