ACS Registration #2917. The Camellia Journal,2014, 69(2):30 with color photo. American Camellia Yearbook, 2014, p. 133 with color photo and description. This 12-year-old C. japonica chance seedling first bloomed in 2007. It was originated by Lillian Gordy of Ocala, Florida, USA and registered and propagated by Mark Crawford of Valdosta, Georgia, USA. Bloom: The medium sized 9.6cm x 5.1cm semi-double to anemone form flower is soft red with petaloids of which some are white. It has yellow anthers and white filaments. The bloom consists of 22 petals and 18 petaloids. It is a profuse bloomer that falls in one piece and has consistent form. The blooms are held upright on the stems. Plant: The plant habit is upright. The growth rate is slow. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Slow growth rate and pyramidal habit makes it suitable as a container/patio plant. Leaf: The dark green leaves average 7.7cm x 4.5cm with high serration. Bloom season: Midseason to late.
