Prince-N-Red (C. japonica). ACS Registration #3139. This 10-year-old C. japonica chance seedling of 'Royal Velvet' first bloomed in 2010. It was originated, registered and propagated by Pat B. Johnson of Cairo, Georgia. Bloom: The small sized 6.9 cm x 3.8 cm formal double form flower is dark red. This profuse bloomer is long lasting with heavy petal texture, consistent form and falls in one piece. Plant: The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is average. The plant is suitable for landscaping and exhibition uses. Leaf: The dark green leaves average 7.6 cm x 2.8 cm with low serration. Bloom season: Midseason to late.
