Española de la Camelia, 31. 2017, p.33. Origin of the
cultivar: a seedling, originated by Jesus Costas in Vigo C. japonica (Pontevedra,
Spain) in 2007. FLOWER: Size: large, 10.5-12 cm in diameter and 5.5-6
cm depth. Colour: homogeneous red, 54 A or 53 C-D ( colour chart). RHS Shape:
rose form. Petals: numerous, from 70 to 110; the external ovated with cordated
margin and the internal elliptical or irregular with wavy margin. Petaloids:
from 60 to 160, disordered and mixed with stamens and internal petals. Stamens:
from 11 to 90, with splits or dispersed arrangement; white filament with
reddish base. LEAF: Size: medium,
7.5-9.5 cm long and 5-6.5 cm wide. Colour: medium green. Shape: elliptical to
ovate. Margin: dentate. Apex: pointed to acuminate. Base: rounded to obtuse. PLANT: Blooming period: mid season,
from the end of January to the end of April. Habit: bushy and open growth habit
and slow growth rate. Other data: it has been shown in several Galician
camellia shows and it has won several prizes: 2013 Camellia Show in 2014 and
2017 Santiago de Compostela International Camellia Show in Vigo
