This 12-year-old C. sasanqua chance seedling first bloomed in 2005. It was originated and registered by Glenn Read of Lucedale, Mississippi, USA, and propagated by Glenn Read Camellia Nursery of Lucedale, Mississippi, USA. Bloom: The small to medium sized 7cm x 3.1cm anemone to loose peony form flower is vibrant neon red. This long lasting profuse bloomer has consistent form and florescence. The vibrant neon red blooms have deeper neon red shading at the edge of the petals. Plant: The plant habit is upright and dense. The growth rate is vigorous. The plant is suitable for landscaping use. Leaf: The medium green leaves have low serration and average 5.7cm x 2.5cm. Bloom season: Early to midseason.
