van Houtte Catalogue, 1881-1882, 194-L:17: Rovelli frères obtained this variety from seed in his nursery - A perfectly imbricated white; shade light flesh tone, petals firm texture. Early flowering. Auguste van Geert Catalogue, No.82, 1881-1882, p.14: Large size, imbricated flower. White tinted pale pink, perfect form. Flowers when opening resemble a rosebud. Originated by Rovelli frères from Pallanza (Lago Maggiore) in Italy , according to Roda, 1885 and Rovelli frères, 1896. Tirocco, 1928 says “Large flower, rose with red spots”. Orthographic errors: ‘Regina Margarita’, ‘Regina Margharita’.
