American Camellia Yearbook, 1993, p.70, colour plate p.74, Reg. No.2276: A large size, medium to dark pink, loose peony form C.japonica chance seedling, that blooms mid-season to late. Originated by Grover C. Chester, Augusta, Georgia, USA. The 22 year old seedling first flowered 1974. Average flower size is 12.5 cm across x 5 cm deep with 22 petals and 6 petaloids. Plant growth is upright and vigorous with dark green leaves 10 cm long x 5.5 cm wide.
